9-Month Homesteading Apprenticeship

Do you feel a deep pull to live more in rhythm with the seasons? To live closer to the land and nourish yourself with truly alive food?

We’re offering a 9-month Homesteading Apprenticeship beginning in March—an immersive, hands-on learning experience where participants join us in the real, day-to-day life of our homestead. This is not just about gaining practical skills, but about cultivating a way of being in relationship with land, food, and community.

More and more people are feeling the tension between modern life and what actually feels sane, grounded, and sustainable. While social media often romanticizes this lifestyle, we believe the real beauty lies in learning practical skills that bring you closer to the earth without needing to abandon your life.

Anyone can homestead, no matter your current skills and living situation. All it takes is the desire to learn and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone.

About the Apprenticeship:

Our intention for this apprenticeship is to make living off the land accessible, no matter your experience level, land access, or resources. You’ll learn actionable ways of being that you can start to implement in your life right away.

The goal of this seasonal arc is to share our experiences, providing you with an accessible entry point into living with the land in some tangible way. We aim to plant a seed of inspiration that may grow over your lifetime. There will be something for everyone, whether you are drawn to:

  • Growing food, planting trees, and caring for gardens from seed to harvest

  • Preserving seasonal abundance (canning, drying, fermenting, freezing)

  • Fermentation and traditional food crafts (vegetables, wild ferments, infused honeys, mead, etc.)

  • Sourdough baking, cheese making, and meat curing

  • Foraging for wild food and medicine, including crafting herbal oils, tinctures, and remedies

  • DIY projects using reclaimed and natural materials

  • Reading land and working with natural patterns (soil, water, sun, wind)

  • Basic permaculture principles for designing resilient systems

  • Raising, caring for, and ethically processing animals (pigs, chickens, goats)

  • Building healthy soil (composting, mulching, cover crops)

  • Water systems basics (irrigation, rain capture concepts)

  • Simple infrastructure skills (tool use, fencing, repairs)

  • Living in rhythm and celebrating seasonal cycles (Pagan holidays)

This is participatory, experiential learning. You’ll learn by doing, alongside us, while developing the confidence and grounded understanding needed to bring these practices into your own life.

We’ve come to see that homesteading isn’t a destination it’s a relationship. Whether or not you ever own land, learning these skills and reconnecting with your food and environment tends to shift everything. It deepens how you nourish yourself, how you show up in community, and how you orient your life toward what already feels true.
