Join an intimate group of passionate people for a unique sourdough class that goes beyond traditional baking. While most of our classes are about baking sourdough bread, after getting a lot of requests, we have decided to teach a sourdough sweets class. So many people recognize that sourdough is far more delicious and nutritious than regular baked goods, but making sourdough desserts takes things into a whole new dimension of delicious.
Led by fermentation enthusiast and homesteader Yoshua Greenfield, the class offers a mindful, easeful, and meditative approach to making sourdough sweets. You'll leave feeling confident in crafting your own sourdough sweets at home, think; sourdough donuts, sourdough cinnabons, sourdough muffins, waffles, and more! In this class we will bake up cinnabons (cinnamon rolls) and have a grand old time.
Yoshua has taught hundreds of people how to make sourdough, and a common reaction is surprise at just how simple it can be. While it may seem daunting at first, Yoshua’s intuitive and fun teaching style breaks down the basic fermentation process, revealing the ancient mystery of baking. Once you grasp these fundamentals, you’ll gain a newfound love and appreciation for baking all kinds of creations and find yourself crafting glorious loafs in no time. These classes are fun, free flowing and so much more than a step by step guide to making bread, they are a journey into the creative process that births life itself.

“The sourdough class with Yoshua was by far one of the best hands-on workshops I've ever been to (and definitely the most delicious). I appreciated how we walked through each major phase of the sourdough process in the course of 90 minutes, because of the preparation that Yosh had done in advance. I was able to ask all of my questions, while getting hands-on experience with the parts that felt the most intimidating. Not only did we learn the science (and art) of sourdough but my mind has been opened to the wider world of fermentation and I've already begun creating a 'project-based' kitchen with many of the lessons learned. The workshop culminated in the most unbelievably tasty spread of warm sourdough and many other fermented goodies, nourishing conversations and considering the larger (slightly existential) wisdom of the fermentation process. As Yoshua said right out the gate, "fermentation is simply creating the conditions for transformation to arise." So basically, we are now alchemists and life is much tastier. Thank you, Yoshua and Aja for an amazing experience. “

“You were incredibly right about the process. You can’t really mess it up. Letting go of control and precision and outcome… there is no right way. Bread is like life. It’s just effort and being in what you’re attempting to create. I’ve been in a real block lately on my next steps in life. Most abstract way, but I see now why we block and ultimately sabotage ourselves”
~ Amelia A Moore
“Thank you for all these additional tips, feeling so encouraged and supported on my journey to make dat breadddd ! I bought a Dutch oven today and a handful of supplies, feeling pumped to start making living bread medicine! Thank you brother:)”
